Hello everyone, how are u all krub, today I will tell u a little bit about this car krub.

This car was bought in 1986 under my grandfather's name. I remember the day we went for a test drive at Sukhumvit soi 24 BMW showroom. There used to be a showroom round the corner of soi 24 which today is Naraya if my memory is still correct. This car was bought there before the price came up, I can't find any documents to verify the price bought that day but I remember my grandfather telling me that it was about 560,000. Had to pay extra for power windows and central lock.

Not my house and I don't own all the cars in the picture but the E28 far left is the car I am talking about.

I don't have much pictures back then but this was how it looked like when it was passed onto me.

The first car from near right krub, actually it had the normal E28 14" rims when it first came..

It was in quite a bad state with lots of rust, you will see later how bad.

One day I was looking through the internet and I saw a set of Alpina 16" on sale, so I bought it. This was like 6 years ago I think, guess how much it was back then for a set of near perfect condition Alpina 16" 5x120 7" it was only 12,000 THB.

I shouldn't have bought the wheels as it was how my real restoration project began. I say real restoration because my family did repaint the whole car 2 rounds already before but as you know, insurance garages usually does a bad job.

On another lucky day, I came across this set in the picture Pfeba spoiler with fog lights + turn lights + front + rear bumpers. It was on sale for quite a while, and no one wanted it can you believe it. I bought it for 12,000 THB including delivery and satisfaction gurantee.

Not sure which, either the rear axle carrier or trailing arm was extremely damaged to one side, so I decided why not change the whole thing. After one phone call this came, the old one out, and new one in, luckily it came with the bigger 535 output shaft so it was a plus to me. Things were really cheap then, I can't remember the exact price but I think it was about 7,000. This included the disc brakes, the whole trailing arm with 535 output shafts but not including the rear axle though.

I used to be one of those kids who loved loud muffler sound and big HKS tail pipes, so as u can see in the picture above that was what I had for exhaust. Many said it had a nice sound, thinking of it I got ripped off. I paid a stupid 4,000 THB for just the rear muffler and like another 2,500 THB for a HKS tail pipe.

Can you imagine a 10th grade kid who had to save up for like 8 months to be able to install that.

The spoiler and rear system came when I was like 1st year uni student I think. It was my childhood savings from my pocket money but as some of u might know the feeling, it was something which had to be done. Although technically its the money I got from my parents as pocket money, it was years of savings together with part time jobs earnings. This was how I really got to know this car because back then I didn't know any realiable garages and repairs were expensive, so this was where Haynes came into handy and I did most of the minor repairs myself. Had alot of time back then.

Some time went by and someone gave me some info about a S5 M20 engine from the E34. I did some research and decided that this would be the perfect transplant. Fate and luck again got me the chance to put my hands and foot on this.

If my info is correct it has these blue colour injectors, 3 bar regulator, H84 crank.

Came automatic with ECU in the picture below. Notice the 4 extra screws, always wondered if it came tuned but never had the courage to take it apart. I did try a different ECU from a M20 B25 and it did not work for this engine.

Bear in mind that I still have not installed the spoilers and bumpers yet, still waiting for thee day at the garage. The truth was I ran outta budget, and just when I was able to save up some this amazing engine came along.

Although the factory M20 B20 engine was still running perfect from a major overhaul a few years back, I wanted to know the difference between L-Jet and Motronic, and what I would get after spending like 3x,xxx on a second hand engine. So I swapped it after a few months of sitting around in the garage doing no use.

Wiring was not cosmetically nice, but the mechanics did a good job.

After having alot of fun driving around with the new engine for quite sometime and after several part time jobs (still in uni studying) I thought it was time to finally get the bumpers and spoiler installed. I was so happy this day came, thought I was going to have to sell it at first.

The next few pictures is why I needed time to save up and why it had to be done right away before it gets worse from rain and flood.

Because I do some minor repairs myself and I wash the car all by myself too, I was well aware of its state and that another year of rain and flood will probably do alot of damage to the chasis.

Many car owners will probably leave it the way it is or sell the car. But for me I know what it feels like to loose a precious family heritage 1st hand car. My grandfather gave me an E12 before this which was also first hand in my family but I had to sell it because it was too much expense for me to keep them both running with just my pocket money, wasn't suitable for daily drive and I didn't have any parking space.

This is not the worse yet.
