How long have you owned your car?
« on: July 25, 2010, 01:08:29 pm »
Mr. Allen Swift (Springfield, MA.) received this 1928 Rolls-Royce Picadilly P1 Roadster from his father, brand new - as a graduation gift in 1928. He drove it up until his death last year.....at the age of 102 !!! He was the oldest living owner of a car from new. Just thought you'd like to see it.  He donated it to a Springfield museum after his death. It has 170,000 miles on it, still runs like a Swiss watch, dead silent at any speed and is in perfect cosmetic condition. (82 years)

Oh! I know a person, an ex-Canadian Navy, now livin' & lovin' down by Phuket !

He claimed to have inherited his model T rod from Steve McQueen, who bought from a young actor named George Raft who, there were many memories there, got it from Mr.Capone.  Yes, it's the same Capone who resided at the Alcatraz as his last residence.

The Capt. took apart the model T, never got around to rebuild it as he was busy chasing the beach-bitches on the 24-7 basis.

Then he braged about this ; an expat who lives in Bangkok said something to him in the tone that he would use this T as a new vehicle to cruise the Bangkok sois, as his little red got so much attention from the soi dogs and they run after him try to bite the new American Racing TT II.

Then, I heard another story about an ex-marketing & advertising guy who thought Muscle Cars were the things to have.  He completed a restoration on one 1965 black pony and now at a cross road whether to go with a '67 Camaro ? or '60 Bel Air.....?

Oh, then there is a story about a Harley-Davidson guy who is going to build a GMC truck.

Yes, as they said sometimes ago that ; the suckers are born everyday !
